The Paintings of Allen Bunker at the Heywood Gallery

The Heywood Gallery, 921 Main Street, Waldoboro, will host the opening of “The Paintings of Allen Bunker” for ArtWalk Waldoboro on August 10th from 4 – 7 pm. A self-taught artist for over 20 years, Bunker describes his works as “landscape allusions” since they depict feelings, rather than locations. “For me it’s all about the possibilities of what lies beyond, or through, or in,” he says. His semi-abstract oils are compilations of textures, shapes, and colors that create a range of emotions. “I try to paint the feeling I get from a particular scene,” explains Bunker.

“The Paintings of Allen Bunker” runs through Friday, August 16th. Located in an 1800s historic building (home to two Governors, one State Senator, and a famous female educator), the Heywood Gallery is open for the first three Thursdays and Fridays of August, from 10 to 3, in addition to the ArtWalk on August 10th from 4 to 7 pm, and by chance or appointment.

In addition to this special exhibition, the Heywood Gallery also features the modern and traditional landscapes, still lifes, and custom pet portraits of American Realist Anne Heywood, artist, art educator, and owner of the gallery. For further information, anne@anneheywood.com.
