On Saturday, August 11th, the Heywood Gallery will be included in the annual Walk Around Waldoboro Tour. Sponsored by the Waldoboro Historical Society, the tour begins at 10 am at the Town Landing and stops at various interesting spots around the village to see and hear how these places played a role in the long and venerable history of Waldoboro. Narrated by Marc Briscoe, historian and author of two volumes of the “Merchant of the Medomak”, the Walk Around Waldoboro Tour concludes at the Heywood Gallery (aka the Governors Mansion) with a brief talk on the fascinating background of this home.

Later on that day, from 4 – 7, the Heywood Gallery will open its doors for the August ArtWalk Waldoboro. Known for its relaxing atmosphere, the Gallery features the works of American Realist Anne Heywood, artist, art educator, author, and gallery owner, who will be welcoming visitors that evening. A selection of her traditional and modern landscapes, still lifes, and custom pet portraits will be on view. The Heywood Gallery joins other Waldoboro galleries and businesses to celebrate the arts, with special shows and artists. For further information, 207.832.6684.
