Enjoy ArtWalk Waldoboro by having the unique experience of visiting the Heywood Gallery, located in an 1800’s-era historic home and showcasing the landscapes, still lifes, and custom pet portraits of American Realist Anne Heywood. Original paintings, plein air studies, prints and cards are on view, along with the history of the home and its notable former residents. Heywood will be on hand to welcome you and share her painting stories on Saturday, July 14th from 4-7 pm for this town-wide ArtWalk.

“The oceanfront was obviously the inspiration for ‘Wave’, one of my most recent paintings,” says Heywood. “I was born and raised on an island (Aquidneck Island, RI), and I find the rhythmic sounds of crashing waves comforting, love the colors all of that moving water creates, and feel perfectly safe behind the shore rocks. Midcoast Maine has plenty of crashing waves and rocks, so I have a ‘supply’ of endless inspiration here.”

The Heywood Gallery’s public open hours are limited — don’t miss this opportunity to visit!

Heywood Gallery, 921 Main Street/Route 220, Waldoboro, Maine.
