Heywood Gallery Kicks Off First Season with Special Exhibition and Historic Project

The new Heywood Gallery, 921 Main St., Waldoboro begins its first season on Saturday, May 23rd from 4 – 7 pm with “UNFRAMED” , an exhibition and sale of American realist Anne Heywood’s special collection of unframed original landscape and still life paintings. A unique show, “UNFRAMED” offers the opportunity to collect Heywood originals and then customize the framing according to the collector’s own personal design tastes. Framed original paintings, limited edition prints, and plein air studies and note cards will also be on display that evening.

In conjunction with “UNFRAMED!” information about how to participate in “These Walls Do Talk: The Waldoboro Governors Mansion Memoirs” will be available. The Governors Mansion, built in the 1800s, served as the home of a famous female educator, two Maine Governors, and one US Senator. “These Walls Do Talk: The Waldoboro Governors Mansion Memoirs” was initiated by Anne Heywood and seeks to preserve the stories of those who have had personal experiences, connections, or observations of the social, political, or everyday happenings revolving around the “life” of this historical home.
