“Each of these paintings begins with a thought that I am trying to convey. I use personal items and common subjects, and try out many arrangements and sketches before deciding which one is the best for my painting. My still lifes carry my thoughts with them, but I never impose that on the viewer. People connect to paintings in different ways. My intention is to engage viewers, and start a silent conversation between them and my painting.”
