Just minutes from Maine Route 1, the Artwork by A. Heywood Studio/School is located in beautiful midcoast Maine in an 1830’s New England farmhouse and barn on five acres. Artwork by A. Heywood serves as Heywood’s working studio and workshop venue where she offers private art instruction in pastel and drawing. The barn is comfortably climate-controlled and has easels and small tables for student studio use. The property’s five acres accommodate plein air painting, providing inspiration for many. The “Governors Mansion”, built in the 1800s and formerly the home of a famous woman educator, two Maine Governors, and one US Senator, is located in the heart of Waldoboro Village and is the “home” of the Heywood Gallery. Framed and unframed original paintings (modern and traditional landscapes and still lifes), original plein air studies, limited edition prints, sample pet portraits, and notecards are available, in addition to gift certificates for custom pet portraits and landscapes.
