Private Showings FAQs

What is a Private Showing?

Private Showings offer Collectors the opportunity to peruse artwork in a quiet environment, customized to your comfort. According to your needs and wishes, I am available for answering questions or giving a limited private “tour” of my work. All Private Showings are free but must be scheduled in advance. Private showings are available at the Heywood Gallery (Waldoboro, Maine) and at Landscapes at the Office (Canton, MA).

How do I arrange a Private Showing?

You may email (anne@anneheywood.com) or call me (508.378.4239 or 207.832.6684) to set a specific date and time that is convenient to you.

What information do I need to provide in order to schedule a Private Showing?

I will need your name, phone number(s), and email address when you schedule your Private Showing. Just prior to your Private Showing I will be contacting you for confirmation.

Will there be other people at my reserved Private Showing?

No. If you wish to bring other people with you to your Private Showing, just let me know when you make your reservation.

Are you open to the public during Private Showings?

No.

Do I have to make a purchase during a Private Showing?

Private Showings are for Collectors, but without obligations. Please feel free to reserve a Private Showing and know that you are free to browse and under no obligation to purchase.

How do I make a purchase during a Private Showing?

All major credit cards are accepted, as well as personal checks and cash. I also offer payment plans.

Gift Certificate FAQsGift_Certificate

What types of gift certificates do you have available?

I offer gift certificates for original paintings, plein air studies, limited edition prints, commissioned pet portraits and scenes, demonstrations, presentations, workshops, and private mentoring sessions. I also offer gift certificates for a specific amount of funds to be used toward my art and services offered directly from me. Heywood gift certificates are not valid for Heywood art and services offered through other galleries, organizations,  or art exhibitions not at the Heywood Gallery (Maine), Landscapes in the Office (Massachusetts), or Anne Heywood’s Studios.

You may custom-tailor a Heywood Gift Certificate to your particular needs, or choose from the following unique gift certificates available:

Straight and Simple: A gift certificate towards whatever form of Heywood Art your loved one prefers (original painting, plein air studies, limited edition prints, commissioned work, workshops, or private mentoring sessions). A thoughtful gift for a free spirit.

Meet and Select: Not just a gift, but an experience. A gift certificate with a personal invitation to meet Anne at the Heywood Gallery, Waldoboro, Maine for a private tour, coupled with the certificate value toward a Heywood original painting or limited edition print of your loved one’s choice.

VIP: Give your loved one the custom painting he/she has always wanted with a gift certificate for a portrait of a beloved pet, a scene of a favorite vacation spot, a still life of beloved personal items, etc. You decide the size, your loved one chooses the subject.

Web Collector: For particularly busy loved ones, a gift certificate for a specific amount (your choice) toward an original Heywood painting or limited edition print shown on www.anneheywood.com or the Anne Heywood page at artcollectormaine.com.  Recipient browses the web at convenience, then contacts me to learn availability, to use the gift certificate, and any further information about the piece in which he or she is interested. Art is shipped directly to gift certificate recipient. In a short time your loved one is enjoying art in the comfort of home or office.

“Grow” an Artist: Just for your “Artist Loved One”: a gift certificate for a Private Mentoring Session or a spot in a group workshop. Your Artist’s future masterpieces await.

“Spice Up” a Meeting: Add a live one-hour painting demonstration or art presentation to your favorite art, cultural, or social group’s next meeting. Members will thank you.

Make a Big Difference: Donate a Heywood painting or limited edition print to your loved one’s favorite charity or non-profit organization as a special fundraiser item for the group’s next auction or raffle.

Do your Gift Certificates have an expiration date?

Gift certificates are valid for the length of my painting life (“forever” as far as I’m concerned).

How are Heywood Gift Certificates sent?

All art must be prepaid, including shipping charges, before shipping.

Online Purchasing FAQs

How do I purchase a painting that I’ve seen on your site?

Night Lot I 24” x 36” (61 x 92 cm), pastel

Night Lot I 24” x 36” (61 x 92 cm), pastel

  1. Send an e-mail to me with the name(s) of the original painting in which you are interested.
  2. Once I receive your e-mail, I will let you know if the painting is still available, and, if so, its price.
  3. I will then ask you to reconfirm your order by e-mail, and to send or phone in your payment. In addition to personal checks, cash, and money orders, you may pay in person or over the phone with a major credit card (Master Card, Visa, Discover, or American Express). All orders must be prepaid.
  4. Once full payment is received and processed, your painting is shipped to you with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
  5. You may also pick up your painting at my Massachusetts or Maine studios.

What does shipping an original painting or limited edition print cost?

Exact shipping costs are determined once the piece is packaged. The shipping cost to you is the actual shipping and insurance cost. I currently use Fed Ex for shipping original artwork, and also use USPS for limited edition prints.

How do I know which of your original works online are available to be purchased?

My paintings sell regularly, so please contact me to learn the availability. Do note that even if a certain work is in an exhibition or gallery, it is still available to be collected through those entities.

Are all of your paintings on your web site?

Not all of my work is on my website. If you are interested in paintings of a certain size, topic, or general colors, or if you’d like to see a painting that you have seen before but do not currently see on this site, please let me know. I can e-mail a picture of a painting to you, so that you can better judge the merits of adding it to your collection. If you would like to see the painting in person, special arrangements may be made to accommodate your request.

Do you paint special scenes or subjects upon request?

I do accept commissioned work, that is, paintings or drawings whose subjects are chosen by the collector. Contact me or see the Commission Process page in this site for further information.

How do you ship your paintings and limited edition prints?

All original paintings and drawings are shipped insured via Fed Ex or USPS. Due to safety and insurance regulations, all framed pieces are shipped with plexiglass glazing, instead of glass. Limited edition prints are shipped rolled (for the larger ones) or flat, via USPS priority mail, insured.

How do I know that the original painting I am purchasing is indeed one-of-a-kind?

I have been a professional full-time artist for over twenty-five years. If you collect my work, be assured that you are collecting uniquely created original hand painted art, and numbered limited edition prints. To further validate my art, each original painting or print is sent to you with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the Artist.

What is your return policy?

I want all my collectors to be happy with my work! I do, however, realize that it may be difficult to choose art over the internet. As a result, I offer my internet collectors the following return option: All original paintings shipped to you may be returned within one week from receipt with full purchase price reimbursement (which does not include return shipping charges). Please note that the painting must be returned in the same condition in which it was originally sent, and must be returned using the same shipping container, packing, and shipping service.

Do you sell or share your collectors address information?

I do not sell or share any of my collectors’ addresses. If you would like to keep up with my news via email announcements (which I send only when I have interesting news!) let me know so that I can add your email address to my mailing list. (There is also a “Sign Up for Anne’s Email Newsletter” button on my website pages that will allow you to do this yourself.)
