Anne Heywood paints both modern and traditional subjects in realistic yet simple terms, so as to provoke thought while creating a sense of mood and character. Her landscapes, still lifes, and pet portraits are noted for their strong compositions and natural color palettes, as well as their beauty – a reflection of her life spent in New England and Italy.
Heywood is an Eminent Pastelist, a prestigious designation bestowed by the International Association of Pastel Societies, and has received many other honors, such as the Dr. Adrian Tinsley Award for Achievement in the Arts from Bridgewater State University, Massachusetts. She is author and illustrator of the book “Pastels Made Easy” (Watson-Guptill Publications, NYC). Listed in Who’s Who in American Women, Heywood has over 25 years’ experience painting, offering workshops, lectures, and demonstrations. Her work is in private, corporate, and public national and international collections.
